Kugelman Innovation Lab Ribbon Cutting

The Episcopal Day School Innovation Lab is a resource-rich space that takes a multidisciplinary approach to learning using design-thinking principles to assist in the development of 21st century skills. Through information and communications technology and literacy we are ultimately preparing our students for a future that is yet to be defined. Through collaborative and creative, problem-solving activities that include science, technology, engineering, art, math, robotics and each child's natural passion for hands-on learning, the Innovation Lab connects learning to life outside the classroom. As Innovators, our students are learning to design new solutions for known problems and issues that affect local and global communities. Throughout the day, our Innovation Lab hosts classes for 1st – 8th grade students, but after school it is the workplace for our robotics team, the RoboJags. In this space, they have the tools to imagine, plan, and build robots to compete against schools across Escambia County. Though donations from our Annual Fund for Excellence and a grant from the Kugelman Foundation, our lab has grown by leaps and bounds over the past year. On Tuesday, October the 18th at 10:00 am, we will be hosting an official ribbon cutting to celebrate and showcase the hard work that has gone into the development and expansion of this incredible educational space.
