Katrina Andry: Depose and Dispose (of) Opening Reception
We invite you to the opening reception and gallery talk for the exhibition Katrina Andry: Depose and Dispose (of) sponsored by COX. It features a conversation between artist Katrina Andry and Director and Chief Curator Amy Bowman-McElhone that will touch on the themes of the exhibition and Andry's artistic process. Andry will also run a printmaking workshop from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on January 12 at the UWF Department of Art, Building 82 on UWF's campus. Both events are open to the public and the workshop is sponsored by the UWF Department of Art. Katrina Andry: Depose and Dispose (of) consists of rich, textured, and poetic reduction woodblock prints that images the transformations of humans into animals as a critique of the exoticizing of people of color in Western culture. The exhibition will be on view from January 12, 2018 through March 18, 2018 in the Lewis Bear Family and Greenhut galleries both located on the first floor of the museum.
