Cost of Home: Innovative Solutions to the Housing Crisis
Nearly 19 million households across the United States are spending at least half of their income on a place to live, often foregoing basic necessities like adequate food and health care to make ends meet. The stability that housing should bring continues to remain out of reach for many people. Cost of Home focuses on improving housing affordability across the housing continuum in four specific policy areas: increasing supply and preservation of affordable homes, equitably increasing access to credit, optimizing land use for affordable homes, and ensuring access to and development of communities of opportunity. Please join Pensacola Habitat for Humanity for the Fourth Annual Community Summit. This year's summit is Cost of Home: Innovative Solutions for the Housing Crisis. This event aims to inform attendees on how the housing crisis has impacted our community and discuss possible solutions to address the ongoing national crisis, including the Cost of Home campaign. We are very excited about the speakers we have lined up for this year's summit. Our speakers for this year include, Chris Vincent, Vice President, Government Relations and Advocacy at Habitat for Humanity International, Brandon Price, J.D., LL.M, Advocacy and Compliance Officer at Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity, and Danielle Stroud, Sr. Director of Development at Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter, Florida. Beginning at 1:00 pm (doors open at 12:30 pm) on Wednesday, August 14th at Sanders Beach-Corinne Jones Resource Center.
