2025 Holocaust Remembrance Event
By reflecting on the atrocities of the Holocaust, the University seeks to deepen awareness of the consequences of intolerance, educate the community on the importance of human rights, and strengthen resilience against prejudice and hatred. In remembering those who perished, we affirm our commitment to fostering and maintaining a respectful campus culture. The Holocaust remembrance event will include a series of commemorative activities designed to honor Holocaust survivors and victims and to foster a deeper understanding of this tragic chapter in history. The event will feature a Screening of Saved by Sousa Mendes, a documentary film that tells the moving story of Aristides de Sousa Mendes, a Portuguese diplomat who risked everything to save over 35,000 lives from Nazi persecution. Additional activities include a reading of names of Holocaust victims, a candle-lighting ceremony, and a somber musical performance. Refreshments will also be served. This event is free and open to the public. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf8sAkFeoyb0NUkm-PG_pZX4ovZcFKU-L3iS6YUbcTAHjueEA/viewform
