Today's Spotlight Speaker: Shelly McNitt | Safe Families for Children North Florida

Shelly grew up in Southern Illinois, moving to Pensacola in 2010 to go to college, but ended up being a bartender in downtown Pensacola instead. One day she realized that her passion was for encouraging people and helping the vulnerable. She began studying missions and became a missionary intern through a local sending organization, Globe International and has traveled on several foreign missions, including Romania, Guatemala, and Bangladesh. In 2020, she learned about Safe Families and the tragic foster care statistics in this country, and specifically in her community. That was when she knew God was calling her to be a statistic changer right where she was. With her incredible husband Brian’s support, she joined the Safe Families Florida team with determination to see lives, families, and generations in her community supported, empowered, and uplifted.
